HP Envy dv6 Review

The HP Envy dv6 is a stylish and modern laptop with powerful hardware from a reputable manufacturer. So what is the potential conceals of this device?

At first glance, it’s clear that the HP Envy dv6 is the embodiment of style. The color of this product on the official site is called Midnight Black Aluminum. Reality reflects its name. The cover of our laptop is made of black aluminum with a fine grinding, which adds elegance to the design. Pad on the operation panel is made of the same material. The completely black body well matched with silver edging and screen operation panel.

Case in dv6 is very strong and only slightly deformed by pressure. Assembling is commendable. Details are not loosened, and do not have gaps. The lid is held quite firmly and it will be easy to lift it with one hand.

Input Devices

The HP Envy dv6 is equipped with rubberized keyboard. The size of its keys are 14 x 14 mm, which is enough for comfortable operation. The keys have a middle course and quick returns, and in spite of that, have a good indicator of resistance, due to which the layout of our laptops are no flimsy buttons. The keyboard is quite securely fixed to the base. It copes well with the pressure, but, nevertheless, the central region of this panel is a little flex under strong pressure.

Also our laptop’s touchpad has medium size with physical keys and a smooth surface on which user easily slips a finger. Sensor web has good sensitivity, and with the touchpad buttons you do not need to push strongly in order to achieve the desired result. In addition, in the upper corner of the touch panel is a button to turn on and off the device.

The 15.6-inch display of the laptop has a very high rate of resolution: 1920 x 1080 pixels. Although, given the value of our laptop, there is nothing surprising here. Among other things, the display offers a very high contrast ratio. Also impressive wide viewing angles that make this display very easy to watch movies at home with a small group of friends.

Now the main thing! The hardware is something that directly affects the performance and, therefore, the cost of the device. Since our laptop is decent, it makes sense to expect from him a powerful and interesting toppings. Actually, the way it is. On board of the HP Envy dv6 is a quad-core Intel Core i7-3630QM processor with a clock speed of 2.4 GHz. Graphic tasks here performs a discrete NVIDIA GeForce 630M graphics card with 2 GB of internal memory. The amount of memory is 8 GB, which would be sufficient to carry out the tasks for which the computer locked up. On top of that, the DV6 has a hard disk capacity of 1000 GB, which can always fit a multimedia library, heavy games and various documents.

The HP Envy dv6 has a really great set of interfaces. But for an expensive multimedia laptop is quite familiar. On the left side are two USB 3.0 ports, VGA video connectors and HDMI, two audio microphone and headphone jacks, as well as Internet RJ-45 connector. On the front side is the SD-card reader. Almost all the space starboard is Blue-Ray drive. In our time, perhaps, it is advisable to install only the optical drive, which supports Blu-Ray. Next to the drive are two USB ports – one USB 2.0, and one USB 3.0. In addition, the right side still have a Kensington security port and an input to the charger.

Expensive, but powerful and stylish, HP Envy dv6 meets the needs of not only the ordinary “users”, but fans of video games. In addition, this laptop can easily replace any desktop computer, and will be a great help in the office. If you are looking for a powerful, versatile laptop, buying HP Envy dv6 is really a good choice.

    Thanks for your nice reviews.

I am typing this on a HP DV6 latop.
It is a Vista machine and is 5 years old and in everyday use.
I find the machines are well made and reasonably priced.
    Above all, dependable.
You couldn’t ask for much more of a machine.
I appreciate that a number of people probably never heard of HP DV6, and I just wanted to put their minds at ease.
